It did, indeed. He wanted to know the rest of his story, what's to become of him. Things he had every right to know. [A pity it had all gone so dreadfully wrong.]

[He laughs at that.] Nothing but Abel himself. Tell me, do you honestly believe that he would be willing to peaceably discuss anything with me? Every time I have encountered him here he has threatened, if not inflicted, bodily harm. The lines of communication are not exactly open.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone, Cardinal. None of us is perfect. [Considering the things he's done, what right does Abel have to judge him? Ah, but she doesn't know the whole story either, does she? He would dearly like to tell her. And someday he will. But now, it seems, is not the time.]

I do hope we can chat again soon. It's been quite lovely.
