In this post, you have the option to either meet Caterina in person or leave her an audio or video message. State which you want and I will happily follow your lead.
[It's a bit disappointing to be deprived of the joy of seeing her, but he can't say he's all that surprised. And he's not going to let that little detail spoil things. She had asked to speak with him, after all, and that was more than enough to keep him happy. Even in the face of that remark.
He's still troubled by the incident, but he can't help but smile faintly, triumphantly, as he responds.]
[He hesitates a moment, smiling to himself. They're so alike in some ways. She just has to know everything, even though it has nothing to do with her. She's gone so far as reaching out to him, just to satisfy her curiosity. It's amazing, really.]
There's not much to tell, really. Cain had questions. I tried to answer them. Abel overreacted. Some... irritating woman intervened. I died, apparently, and now I'm back.
Tell me. Has Abel run off again? I imagine he'll be sulking for some time. He was going to kill me, you know. He would have, if it hadn't been for that woman. He must feel just awful.
[Caterina is biting down on her finger nail. For a long moment there's only silence to answer him. She should let that comment go, but mentioning Abel's disappearance... calling him 'Abel' at all... as if they were friends! Caterina's blood is boiling.]
I am certain he is absolutely devastated he didn't get to have his way with a mass murderer.
[Just like that she'll pull back on that cool mask of indifference.] It would be best if you kept your distance from both of them. You'll only end up dead again at this rate. While I'll hardly mourn you, it's rather cruel of you to leave your associate behind.
[His smile vanishes at that outburst and her choice of words. Mass murderer? What an ugly term.
He'd like to explain to her the key difference between victims of murder and casualties of war, but something tells him she's in no mood to listen. So he leaves that particular statement unanswered.]
Oh, I think she could survive a few days without me. Though, of course, I would prefer to avoid such an eventuality. But that is not to say that I'll be deterred. I can't stay away from him forever.
[It's a simple fact, and he sees no reason to deny it.]
It did, indeed. He wanted to know the rest of his story, what's to become of him. Things he had every right to know. [A pity it had all gone so dreadfully wrong.]
You must know of their connection. Asking for his permission is exactly what you should have done as it is plain to see you hold no shame over what you've done. There was nothing to stop you from discussing the matter with him.
[He laughs at that.] Nothing but Abel himself. Tell me, do you honestly believe that he would be willing to peaceably discuss anything with me? Every time I have encountered him here he has threatened, if not inflicted, bodily harm. The lines of communication are not exactly open.
We both know you deserve that much from him. It's not as though you lack the means to contact him. [That cold indifference is now ice, steel. The longer she speaks with him, the more the Magician gets under her skin.]
But, I am wasting my time lecturing a man like you on decency. Unless you have anything else to add, I'm done.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone, Cardinal. None of us is perfect. [Considering the things he's done, what right does Abel have to judge him? Ah, but she doesn't know the whole story either, does she? He would dearly like to tell her. And someday he will. But now, it seems, is not the time.]
I do hope we can chat again soon. It's been quite lovely.

I was told that you wished to speak with me... [And he is oh so very pleased.]

Kampfer. I see the grave didn't suit you.

I daresay it did not.

Nor did it seem to trouble you. I was hoping you would share your experience. I could only learn so much from your associate.
Re: audio forever
What precisely did you wish to know?
